Seeking Gold sells for 78,000 Guineas in the Tattersalls Online June Pop-up Sale

The sale of 90 rated three-year-old colt SEEKING GOLD saw some spirited bidding in the closing stages before being secured by Debbie Mountain and Qatari-based owner Hassan Al Abdulmalik for 78,000 guineas in the Tattersalls Online June Pop-up Sale.

Following on from the sale, Mountain was enthusiastic after seizing the opportunity to secure the lightly raced son of HAVANA GOLD:

“We are very pleased. He is a nice horse and he looks like he is definitely a fast ground horse. He will come to Qatar. He has a good pedigree and looks like he will hopefully be effective from a mile to ten furlongs. That’s what we will be aiming for and he looks like a nice prospect for the future for us here. I don’t think we will run him next week at Royal Ascot but I would imagine he will run again before he leaves the United Kingdom although we might save him for when he makes it over here, where his main targets will be.”

In her first foray on the Tattersalls Online platform, Mountain felt the online sales provided an excellent opportunity to purchase remotely and cater for that section of the market: 

“Everything was very detailed online. We just went on the information that was on the website. We were able to look at the race replays, the vet reports and all the relevant information. We are a long way from Newmarket so this has worked well. This is the first online sale we have done. We do usually bid online at the sales but this was the first time we purchased from an online auction. It was super. I think it serves its purpose really well, especially for us remote buyers, I think it’s very good. These sales are just what we need.”

The next sale to take place on the Tattersalls Online platform is the July Online Sale on 5th – 6th July. The sale is open to all entry types including Horses In/Out of Training, Mares, Yearlings, Point to Pointers, Stores, Breeding Rights, Stallion Shares and Racehorse Shares.
