Group 1 Winner King Gold Heads 196 Lots in Tattersalls Online November Sale
Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest winner KING GOLD headlines the largest ever catalogue for a sale on the Tattersalls Online platform with a record 196 lots set to go under the virtual hammer in the Tattersalls Online November Sale on 20th – 21st November. The sale comprises 109 horses in and out of training, 42broodmares, 28 yearlings, 11 foals, 4 stores as well as Breeding Rights to proven Group 1 sire ARDAD and leading first season sire SERGEI PROKOFIEV.
Consigned by Chantilly-based trainer Nicolas Caullery, Group 1 winner KING GOLD boasts a current Timeform rating of 113 and is being sold as both a racing and stallion prospect. Having enjoyed success at the highest level in 2023, the entire also won consecutive renewals of the Group 3 Prix de la Porte Maillot at Longchamp including a defeat of subsequent Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest runner up EXXTRA this year. The son of ANODIN has been nominated for a campaign at the Dubai World Cup Carnival this winter and has previously been placed twice on the dirt surface at Meydan.
Among the quartet consigned by Karl Burke’s Spigot Lodge Stables are the classy pair IMPERIAL SOVEREIGN and CUBAN TIGER who carry current Timeform ratings of 101 and 102 respectively. The three-year-old HAVANA GREY colt CUBAN TIGER is the winner of the Listed Burradon Stakes and finished third in a Class 2 handicap on his most recent start at Kempton this month. IMPERIAL SOVEREIGN was an impressive winner on debut late last year and has run with credit when highly tried at three, including a laudable sixth in the Group 2 Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot behind subsequent Group 1 St Leger runner up ILLINOIS.
The horses in training catalogued also include several last start winners including NEW THEORY, SILENT MOVE and STARTLING, and quality National Hunt performers are on offer including last time out bumper winners MASTERPIECE and TILEHURST and the Crawford Brothers’ recent point to point winner KIMJOY. Dan Skelton’s Lodge Hill Stables will consign a draft of four lots led by Grade 1 placed hurdler FOREVER WILLIAM.
The Tattersalls Online November Sale will feature the Alne Park Stud Partial Dispersal with a draft numbering twelve broodmares and four foals. The Partial Dispersal features mares in foal to resident stallions DINK, OCOVANGO, MIDNIGHTS LEGACY and SUBJECTIVIST and includes two daughters of Listed winner CALL ME A STAR, a full sister to Grade 3 winner and Grade 1 placed hurdler WEST BALBOA, and a half-sister to Grade 2 Kingwell Hurdle winner and Grade 1 placed BLUE HERON. The foals on offer include a filly by DINK out of a half-sister to Grade 1 performers and multiple black type winners BONNY KATE and MALA BEACH, whose dam PEPPARDSTOWN LADY also features in the draft, as well as a colt by OCOVANGO who is out of a half-sister to top class French hurdler TUNIS.
Further highlights among the breeding prospects in the sale include Fittocks Stud’s exciting mare LOCKERBIE, a half-sister to multiple Group 3 winner and Group 1 placed HAMISH offered in foal to proven Group 1 sire CRACKSMAN. Hedgeholme Stud consign CTHULHU who received a big update recently when her half-brother GAMING finished second in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and is a leading contender for the 2025 Kentucky Derby. Also sure to garner plenty of interest is Tweenhills Stud’s Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes placed mare SPARKLE ROLL, a half-sister to Group 1 Epsom Derby hero WINGS OF EAGLES who is offered in foal to their exciting young sire KAMEKO. Other broodmares in the sale are offered to sires including AWTAAD, LOPE Y FERNANDEZ, SERGEI PROKOFIEV and STATE OF REST.
Among the foals in the sale are progeny of ADVERTISE, STRADIVARIUS, TEN SOVEREIGNS and WALDGEIST, as well as four stores catalogued by FALCO and GALILEO CHROME.
There are 28 yearlings catalogued for the sale with leading Flat and National Hunt sires represented including A’ALI, COTAI GLORY, COULSTY, EARTHLIGHT, FALCO, HAVANA GOLD, KHALIFA SAT, OASIS DREAM, TASLEET, TEN SOVEREIGNS, TERRITORIES and WITHOUT PAROLE.
