Gigginstown House Stud Annual Dispersal confirmed for Tattersalls Online August Sale
Michael O’Leary’s Gigginstown House Stud have entrusted Tattersalls Online to offer their annual dispersal which is set to be a highlight feature of the Tattersalls Online August Sale on 14th – 15th August.
The dispersal which comprises of eight lots is led by Grade 1 winner BEACON EDGE who was most recently seen finishing fourth in the very competitive Listed Boylesports Handicap Hurdle at last week’s Galway Festival. The son of DOYEN is holding his form well having been victorious in the Pro Glide Hurdle at Ballinrobe in May after being placed in a Listed Handicap Hurdle at the Punchestown Festival, and earlier in the year placed second in the Grade 2 Boyne Hurdle at Navan.
Another highlight of the draft is the staying chaser IDAS BOY winner of the Listed Midlands National Handicap at Kilbeggan last month. A previous graduate of the 2019 Tattersalls Cheltenham April Sale when purchased for £155,000 by Margaret O’Toole and Noel Meade, he also boasts a third-place finish in the Grade 3 Paddy Power EBF Novice Chase and is being offered with a current IHRB rating of 153.
Other classy performers include FLANKING MANEUVER and FRONTAL ASSAULT. Bringing recent form to the sale, FLANKING MANEUVER was placed a good third over fences on his most recent start at the Galway Festival in the Galway Blazers Chase. He also boasts multiple graded form over fences having been placed in the Grade 2 Ten Up Novice Chase and the Grade 2 Flyingbolt Novice Chase. Grade 3 winning hurdler FRONTAL ASSAULT is sure to spark interest. A winner over fences this top-notch performer was third in the Listed MAYO National Handicap in May and finished second in the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse earlier in his career.
The remainder of the eight-horse draft from Gigginstown House Stud comprises of recent winning hurdler ANKUD now rated 124 over hurdles after victory at Sligo last month. KALEOSUN a lightly raced son of NO RISK AT ALL is a winner on the flat and over hurdles and has a handicap mark of 116 over obstacles to work with. Point to Point winner PALLAS ATHENE who looks set to make her mark over fences and the three-year-old flat performer ASCENDENT complete the quality draft that is sure to attract a lot of attention amongst prospective buyers.
