171 Lots Catalogued and New Time Format for Tattersalls Online September Sale

171 lots have been catalogued for the Tattersalls Online September Sale which will open for bidding on Wednesday 18th September and will begin to close from an earlier time of 11am on Thursday 19th September. The sale includes 118 horses in and out of training, 23 broodmares, 19 yearlings, 6 foals, 4 stores and a Breeding Right to PHOENIX OF SPAIN.

Headlining the catalogue is leading French sprinter and 107-Timeform rated mare MGHEERA. Already a Listed winner and Group 2 placed this season for trainer Manon Scandella-Lacaille, the daughter of international sire sensation ZOUSTAR will run in the Group 3 Qatar Prix Petit du Covert on Sunday. She is being sold with an entry in the Group 1 Prix de l’Abbaye at Longchamp next month.

Another highlight of the horses in training on offer is the impressive three-year-old French hurdler PICKLAND. After showing promise on debut when finishing fourth at Dieppe, the son of MASTERSTROKE improved markedly to land an easy ten length victory on his most recent start. Consigned by trainer Gabriel Leenders, PICKLAND is a half-brother to SWEET DAVID, a multiple winner over hurdles who placed fourth in the Group 3 Prix La Perichole Chase at Auteuil.

Bansha House Stables present a draft of seven lots led by the eye-catching last start winner ACTIN LIKE A DIVA. The two-year old fared encouragingly on her first two starts before taking her form to new heights when swooping late to land a competitive maiden at Navan last weekend. The daughter of KUROSHIO is out of an own-sister to Hong Kong Listed winner MONTECCHIO from the great Ballymacoll family of ISLINGTON.

A Breeding Right to Classic winning sire PHOENIX OF SPAIN presents a rare opportunity. The son of LOPE DE VEGA is the sire of this season’s prolific top level performer HAATEM, twice Classic placed and winner of the Group 2 Vintage Stakes at two and Group 3 Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot. PHOENIX OF SPAIN was himself a Group 1 winner at two before winning the Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas at three, and currently stands at the Irish National Stud.

The breeding stock on offer features a selection of attractive fillies in and out of training and 23 broodmares, including the Whitsbury Manor Stud consigned black type mare BIRI’S ANGEL in foal to their up and coming young sire SERGEI PROKOFIEV. Sure to garner interest for prospective National Hunt breeders will be Alne Park Stud’s draft of nine mares including Listed placed ROSEISAROSEISAROSE, a half-sister to Listed placed MONBEG ROSE who is offered in foal to Grade 1 producing sire OCOVANGO.

Amongst the yearlings on offer is the WH Bloodstock consigned filly by exciting young sire TOO DARN HOT. Out of ELECTRIC LADYLAND, placed fourth at Listed level at two, the filly is a half-sister to promising juvenile RAJETERIAT. Other notable sires represented with yearlings in the sale include ARDAD, HAVANA GOLD, LOPE Y FERNANDEZ, NATHANIEL, OASIS DREAM, SERGEI PROKOFIEV, STARMAN and SUPREMACY.

There are six foals on offer by sires including CAPRI, MAGNA GRECIA, SHOWCASING and VADAMOS, as well as four stores catalogued by CITYSCAPE, DARTMOUTH, MY DREAM BOAT and TELESCOPE.
